I can’t take the power..

Of this completely operational hand drier. The Xlerator. This piece of hardware is/ was in city airport (London) and I thought it amusing; the engineer left the showroom stickers on for one; that there may actually be a showroom for these; that there must be trade mags and the like; that it had such a cool name and… You really could feel the power. Yeah! Like an air guitar on a power riff near a fan.

The Advanced WWII Planes

All those stealth fighters that look so original and modern are the height of modern aviation and development – pah. The Germans had a team working on some amazing technology in the 2nd world war.

Now it is hard to say that a machine designed for war of any kind is aesthetically pleasing but… this thing looks like a pod-racer or some cool retro space fighter. Very nice. The details and a few more images are available after the jump on National Geographic

Russian portaloos

To increase the usability of portable toilets in Russia- Moscow to be precise, red square to be even more so- have the end cubicle as an office for a lady who charges you and cleans the unit after use.

While observing a few diferent ones I noticed that they always seemed busy even where there was no one spending a penny.

Not sure if it is an odd phenomenon, people hang out in public toilets in the UK offering aftershave and hand towels. Yes. It is odd. Popping into a portaloo in red square and comming out to a lady who wants money is surprising and disorientating “who is this woman?”.

Tanked up

This tractor looks amazing! Plenty of bolts- far too many for the job. In fact why this vehicle needs to be so waterproof is rather odd, it goes to the water not into it.
