These road markings were at the junction south of the river of Blackfriers Bridge London mid 2008. I thought they looked nice enough to stop and record in the morning on the way in to work.

I am not sure what they mean, I am guessing the symbols and colours relate to different services, gas, water and whatnot. Well it is either that or a battle scene illustration from star wars, loads of tie bombers and fighters all over the shop, blurred lines of motion lasers and the like.

Well I love these markings from an aesthetic perspective as much as the usability, symbols are nice – street hieroglyphics if you like.
